Inaugural meeting – December 2024 - APPG on Immigration Detention

The APPG on Immigration Detention has been re-established in the new Parliament following a meeting held on 2 December 2024.

Meeting attendees (L to R): Lord German (Liberal Democrat), Baroness Bennett of Manor House (Green Party), Baroness Lister of Burtersett (Labour), Bell Ribeiro Addy MP (Labour) and Rt Hon. John McDonnell MP (Labour)

During the meeting a vote was held to elect the new Chair and officers of the APPG. The election results were:

Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP (Labour) – Chair
Rt Hon. the Lord Garnier KC (Conservative) – Officer
Baroness Hamwee (Liberal Democrat) – Officer
Mohammad Yasin MP (Labour) – Officer

Medical Justice was re-appointed as the APPG’s secretariat.
